Welcome to M & S Log Splitters

M & S Log Splitters is a family run business based in Colne, Lancashire. Each of our log splitters have been engineered to be highly efficient and designed to be simple to use.
Splitting your own wood is a cost effective and eco-friendly source of firewood. Hiring a log splitter for as little as £35 a day, enables you to produce your own fuel without the initial substantial outlay of purchasing a new machine you may only use occasionally.

Hire Benefits:

  • No capital investment.
  • Immediate availability for short term needs.
  • Eliminates requirement for storage.
  • Machines of differing speeds and power are available.
  • No direct maintenance costs.
  • No transport required - equipment delivered and collected from site.
  • Demonstration and instruction of safe use provided.

Potential sources of timber to split:

  • From your own, or from a neighbour's land.
  • Your local tree surgeon.
  • Your Local Authority.
  • A Forestry Operator.
  • A Saw Mill.
  • Local Farmers.

Each log splitter features:

Standard Single Wedge
This splits a log into two pieces. Because this wedge has a large taper most wood will split with minimal movevment, further speeding up the process. It also serves as the mount for the four-way wedge.

Four-Way Wedge
The four-way wedge fits over the standard wedge to enable the quick processing of straight grained logs up to 350mm diameter into four pieces.

Log Supports
These log supports hold the log to be split centrally on the beam enabling the operator to remove their hands before the splitting cycle begins.

Work Table
The work table contains the split timber, avoiding the tiresome task of constantly collecting wood from the floor.

Maximum log length = 400mm. Models available from 5.5 HP to 11 HP.
